Offering a sense of urgency unlike any other social media platform, Snapchat has built its photo-sharing empire on vanishing content.
Each picture or video message, aka “Snap,” is only viewable for between one to 10 seconds—and then it disappears forever from the platform (there are other ways to keep them, but we’ll get into that later). Snapchat, which is available for iOS and Android, has allowed users to share photos in this unique way since 2011.
Now, with its more than 100 million daily active users who post nearly 9,000 photos to Snapchat every second, it’s in many companies’ best interest to try it out. Brands can use Snapchat in a number of ways, from sending coupons or discount codes to followers to launching a new product.
This infographic breaks down the Snapchat basics and highlights how you can build your company’s Snapchat following.
